Elvis Nshimba is an internationally accredited coach and the Founder & CEO of the Umoja Sport Foundation, a non-profit organization based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) with a mission to create safe and thriving communities through sport, education, and economic empowerment.
As a leading expert in sport for development, Elvis has trained thousands of teachers, coaches, and community leaders across Africa. He is committed to using the power of sport to drive positive social change and empower underserved populations.
In 2024, Elvis was selected as an alumni of the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship, where he graduated with a degree in Leadership for Civic Engagement from Kansas State University. This prestigious program is the flagship initiative of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), which empowers young African leaders through academic coursework, leadership training, and networking.
Thanks to his remarkable work, Elvis was awarded the best practitioner of sport for development in Central Africa by the Sport for Social Change Network in South Africa. He has spoken at high-level events such as the Concordia Annual Summit, the Manchester City Annual Youth Summit, the 3rd edition of the African Sport Changemaker Program, and the international conference held by the Sport For Social Change Network.
