Join us as an Umoja Sport International Strategist.
Are you passionate about community development? Do you believe in the power of sports to transform lives? Umoja Sport Foundation is looking for dedicated interns to join our team as International Strategists.
About Umoja Sport: We are a nonprofit organization operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo with a mission to create a safe and thriving community for all through sport, education and economic empowerment. Umoja means “Unity” in Swahili, and we use the sport to both unite people together and as a tool for education beyond the traditional classrooms, promoting health, education, youths and female.
Tasks:
- Work directly with the Chief Executive Officer
- Serve as a liaison between Umoja Sport and international stakeholders. This involves developing and implementing strategies to increase.
- Play a crucial role in building and nurturing relationships, and partnerships within the communities of partners and potential collaborators.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including community members, local businesses, government agencies, and volunteers.
- Relevant experience in community outreach, event planning, and stakeholder management is important.
- A good understanding of the local community and its demographics, social, and economic dynamics is crucial to tailor the organization’s programs and initiatives to the needs of the people it serves.
- Possess project management and organizational skills to coordinate the various community engagement efforts and effectively manage volunteers.
- Familiarity with digital tools and social media is valuable for leveraging these platforms to communicate the organization’s impact and build stronger connections with the community.
- Adaptability and flexibility are key, as the International Strategist needs to be able to adjust strategies and tactics based on evolving community needs and priorities.
